We are a non-denominational congregation of people who seek to follow the New Testament. As a congregation, we are fully autonomous and independent. The congregation is under the oversight of our elders. We are in fellowship with over 25,000 sister congregations around the world.
We believe in the authority of the Bible as the revelation of Christ’s will for the world. Therefore, in submitting to that authority, we submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We plead for the unity of all believers based on following the teachings and practices of the New Testament church.
We also encourage the laying aside of the traditions, practices, organizations, and names that have accumulated over the centuries since the New Testament era and that help perpetuate the unscriptural religious divisions of today. Though we recognize different roles within the church, we do not have a clergy.
We believe that salvation can only come through the blood and cross of Christ, and that this involves personal faith and the decision to follow and submit to Christ’s will.
Distinctive things that visitors notice include the weekly observance of the Lord’s Supper as a main emphasis of our worship assembly, congregational, a cappella singing, Biblical preaching and teaching, an orientation toward children and family, and the baptism of believers by immersion.
As individuals, we seek to be known, simply, as Christians. We believe that faith in Christ should be central to our whole lives, and that each Christian should live on the basis of their own faith, conscience and understanding of the scriptures. We encourage each member to study the Bible and think for themselves and to follow the example of the Bereans in Acts 17:11 who “received the word with eagerness, searching the scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.” We believe that faith, as the Bible portrays it, is reasonable and intelligent.
Visitors and questions are always welcome.
